findlocalestateagent.co.uk is a free service that helps home sellers compare estate agents in their local area. We are the data controller for personal information collected through this website.

What data we collect

• Property address and postcode — to show you relevant local agents
• Selling timeline — when you plan to sell (Now / 3 months / This year / Browsing)
• Name, email address, phone number — only if you choose to provide them
• Agent fee data — anonymised fee percentages you submit voluntarily
• Usage data — pages visited, search queries (analytics cookies, only with consent)

How we use your data

• To provide the service — show you local estate agents, ratings, and reviews
• With utility companies (free access path only) — if you choose free access, you consent to us sharing your property address and move date with energy, broadband, and home services providers. They use this to market switching offers and incentives to you, and potentially to your buyers, around the time of your move. This sharing does not include your name, email, or phone unless you separately provide those in the optional details form. If you pay £1 for access, none of your data is shared with utility providers.
• With estate agents — only if you explicitly tick the consent box on the results page, we may pass your contact details to the top-rated agents in your area, along with a note that you've reviewed their ratings and fee data on findlocalestateagent.co.uk.
• To improve the service — anonymised analytics to understand how the site is used (analytics cookies only, with consent)

Legal basis

We process your data on the basis of explicit consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)) where you have ticked an opt-in box, and legitimate interests for essential site functionality.

Data retention

Lead data (name, email, phone, property address) is retained for up to 12 months from collection, after which it is deleted. Anonymised fee and search data may be retained indefinitely.

Under UK GDPR you have the right to: access your data, correct inaccuracies, request deletion, withdraw consent at any time, and lodge a complaint with the ICO (ico.org.uk).
